It took many different prototypes to get exactly the correct look identical inside and out, especially on the engraved styles. The internal half-cup gaff must first be engraved to match the internal engraving marks of the outer engraved cup showing through. The only noticeable difference is a slightly more convex inner dome where my logo stamp appears [ inside top] and is where the magnet cavity is hidden, but spectators will never notice this slight discrepancy. Looking into the cup the half-cup is invisible, unless you know there is a gaff and exactly where it is located (only magicians know this information).

Engraved All Silver Combo Cup and Deluxe Red/Gold Balls

Because of the magnetic gimmick insert, the final load space has been diminished fractionally, but enough so that a standard tennis ball will not load flush inside of the combo cup. If placed on a tabletop the combo cup rests on the top of the tennis ball instead of flush with the tabletop. Looking down at the combo cup the tennis ball is not visible underneath and may go unnoticed, but I mention these important points to help you make your decision prior to ordering. I think this is a small sacrifice for the benefit of having a 'chop' principal available and will not affect the majority of loads like lemons etc. The 'attic' (void between stacked cups) has not been affected and three 1-1/8" balls will still nest inside the 'combo' cup when stacked. The magnet will 'pickup' the ball when nesting cups or using a shot glass, as in the Larry Jennings routine and is very secure and reliable and will detach without any obvious violent replacement of combo cup on the mat. Two chop balls (one magnetic and one not) will come with each combo cup and they will match the Deluxe Balls in Red/Gold, White/Silver, Blue/Silver, Turquoise Blue/Gold or Jade Green/Gold. The 'combo' cup prices are an honest reflection of the amount of time and specialized labor required to insert a half-cup imperceptibly inside another outer cup. If you wish to purchase a matching combo cup please remember all cups are handmade, some from engraved silver, and in this case the insert is also engraved prior to insertion, so the inside looks identical to the inside of the rest of your engraved non-gimmicked cups, including all the engraving bumps inside the cup. The matching inner hand engraved bumps and exact magnet placement have taken over one year to develop correctly, so now everything looks above suspicion. My engraver will etch an unobtrusive small 'c' inside each combo cup. The small 'c' will be placed inside all the combo cups and will go unnoticed, but will be helpful to instantly distinguish which cup is the combo cup, especially important when in conjunction with the non numbered smooth cups.
