2. The second characteristic of significant importance which you will instantly notice upon handling these deluxe balls and which photographs cannot illustrate is the weight of these balls. The weight is…well perfect! Standard mass produced cork crochet manipulation balls in the same size (for example 1&1/8”) weigh 3 grams each. A semi-soft compressible foam rubber ball was experimented with, which weighed 8 grams and it felt much better, but it still rebounded too much to our liking and it also could be compressed more than preferred. My “Ultra Deluxe Manipulation Balls” Weigh 12 grams EACH and feel great in the hands, but more importantly they drop instantly (ideal for wand spins etc) and do not ‘float’ around in the hand or rebound unexpectedly like cork balls. Because they do not over-rebound they will go where you want them, when you want them to go and then stay put! All cup and ball moves become much easier to execute without fumbling. You will never return to standard cork balls after you handle these. The theory regarding using solid balls is to make it easier for manipulations, yet adding a greater impact on the observer after they are examined and they know they cannot possibly be compressed or easily hidden like a sponge, yet these solid balls appear, disappear, jump, penetrate and reappear under the cups – like magic – all as it should be!

Deluxe Matching Load Balls
All large load balls are available in the same five matching colors (Red/Gold, White/Silver, Blue/Silver, Jade Green/Gold & Turquoise Blue/Gold - see top above). These large load balls are professionally crocheted over a specially manufactured light solid cork ball, which fits perfectly underneath the Brett Sherwood Cups and they make a SPECTACULAR impact when produced! Because of the deceptive design of the Brett Sherwood Cups these large load balls look impossible to fit inside the cup (see photo below).
Three Deluxe Blue/Silver Manipulation Balls and One Matching Load Ball
The load balls are identical in size to a regulation tennis ball and will NOT wedge inside the cups, but will emerge instantly and spectacularly for plenty of misdirection for any follow-up load. We initially experimented with a large hard foam rubber ball, but these were fractionally too large and would sometimes wedge in the cups and they were slightly too heavy, so we invested into these deluxe load balls, which are specially manufactured for us from solid lightweight cork, so they appear instantly and will NOT distort your dress appearance or weigh down your jacket pockets. You will probably forget you have any load balls concealed on you, which is the whole idea and also a nice additional confidence booster. The smaller deluxe balls require weight for manipulating, but these giant deluxe matching load balls do not. Following the initial astonishment when they appear, the only other requirement is that they are solid for any final inspection, because the audience might want to examine the balls as they search for some explanation and they will then discover the loads are solid, which will to destroy any theory that collapsing balls are used. It took two years to locate and manufacture the perfect balls and thread for use with the Brett Sherwood Cups, as one happy buyer put it…“the perfect balls for the perfect cups”.
